QuikRead go CRP outperformed other CRP point of care tests in an analytical performance study

A recent study published in Plos One compared the analytical performance of 17 C-reactive protein (CRP) point of care (POC) tests, with 8 being quantitative and 9 being semi-quantitative tests. For quantitative CRP tests, method comparison to the reference method and precision analysis (repeatability) according to CLSI EP09-A3 protocol were performed. Samples were collected from patients aged 2-65 years presenting with fever. The measurement range covered the CRP range relevant to guide antibiotic prescribing and triage patients.

QuikRead go® CRP POC test had the best agreement and lowest bias of all evaluated quantitative CRP tests. The repeatability of QuikRead go in the precision analysis was also good (CV 5.3%). Semi-quantitative tests showed considerable variation in analytical performance. The authors concluded that all quantitative tests performed well in the broad clinically relevant CRP range, whereas none of the semi-quantitative tests were acceptable for all cut-offs.

QuikRead go CRP
QuikRead go CRP POC test had the best agreement and lowest bias of all evaluated quantitative CRP tests in a recently published study by Calarco et al.
